Li Wei
About a year ago I started following the work of Li Wei, a contemporary artist based in Beijing, working with photography. Spurning the idea of digital photo-manipulation tarnishing the authenticity of his craft, Li stages his sets using props, wire, and clever execution. His seamless reconstruction of reality has definitely served as a huge inspiration informing my own thought processes - an encouraging reminder to break out of the cancerous ease of routine perception from time to time.
